SERVE ON have been asked to provide specialist training to community teams in Bangladesh who can respond to disasters like the Rana Plaza building collapse in 2013 [1100 died].
We have raised most of the funds needed to equip a search and rescue team and send experts to train and develop a sustainable community disaster response system.
We are in urgent need of £5000 to buy the final pieces of specialist equipment and send two experts to Bangladesh in January 2015
We will be working with local communities with the support of ShahJalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet City Corporation and local businesses to deliver training to local workers. This will help support the emergency services rescue people from collapsed buildings and respond to other disasters.
The training will be to an externally accredited standard and SERVE ON will continue to support the development of the teams and their skills over the next few years.
