Dan Cooke is a fire and rescue officer and fire instructor who has been helping others and leading teams for the past 22 years. Dan has lead many search and rescue missions around the world and is selflessly committed to his teams performance - always inspiring others to serve something greater than themselves. Dan has helped transform the Serve On team focusing on developing stronger foundations for our work and broadening our operational capabilities whilst continuing to learn from our past. Dan is a qualified teacher and has taught in 16 schools 2 universities and trained the military, emergency services and response volunteers on four continents. His message: Now is a great time to get involved in an amazing organisation that is growing every day, we are looking for people to share this journey and find a purpose in saving lives and helping others!
Dave Dunford - Training and Development Manager
Dave has 34 years experience in local authority fire and rescue services. He has extensive experience in the development of learning and development systems, national occupational standards and workplace assessment. He is a qualified and experienced trainer with a detailed understanding of risk management and its application in operational environments. He also has experience of ensuring quality assurance across a widely dispersed workforce. Dave has worked with partner emergency services and local authority planners and understands the role of voluntary organisations in providing support to those statutory agencies to ensure civil resilience, and importance of ensuring that any such voluntary organisations are professional and credible.
Dave is committed to bringing his experience in operational emergency response, technical fire safety and risk management knowledge and understanding and all aspects of personnel development into Serve On to ensure all members of Serve On, whether in the UK Community Resilience teams or the International Response Team are well trained, competent and professional.
Mark Conway - Director Disaster Risk Reduction
Mark has worked in Emergency Planning for almost 15 years, and has lead major projects both in local and regional Government . Mark also leads on community resilience and voluntary sector engagement in emergency services.
Mark joined the organisation in 1997 and has deployed to earthquakes in India, Algeria, Iran and Pakistan.
