In September 2024, heavy and persistent rainfall caused severe flooding across parts of Bedfordshire, affecting homes, infrastructure, and local communities. Rising water levels placed significant pressure on emergency services and local resilience networks as they worked tirelessly to protect residents and property.

Serve On was proud to work alongside BLEVEC (Bedfordshire and Luton Emergency Volunteers Executive Committee) to provide vital support during the response. Our DEFRA-accredited Flood Response Team assisted with reassurance patrols, welfare checks, and local coordination, ensuring communities received the help and information they needed during a difficult and uncertain time.

This joint effort demonstrated the strength of collaboration between volunteer agencies and local resilience partners - showing how, together, we can provide effective, compassionate support when communities face crisis.
